The GLOBE Asia-Pacific region hosted the webinar “Digging Deeper: Exploring the Science of Soil” on 25 August 2025, with participants from Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and India. This webinar highlighted soil as a living system—central to ecosystems, agriculture, and sustainable development—while strengthening regional collaboration across the Asia-Pacific network.  >>

On 5–7 May, over 34 participants, including 12 country coordinators, assistant country coordinators, scientists, and Working Group members from 12 Asia and Pacific countries, joined the virtual 2025 Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting. Under the theme “Global Impact: Advancing Earth System Science and STEM Education,” participants engaged in 3 days of interactive sessions designed to share progress, build capacity, and co create a roadmap for the next year.  >>

In a recent virtual keynote address, Dr. Sonal Gupta from the Asia and Pacific Regional Coordination Office highlighted the GLOBE Program’s Phenology Campaign and Land Cover protocol as models for community-driven environmental monitoring.  >>

We are excited to announce that the migration is nearly complete of all GLOBE protocols to the new data entry system and GLOBE Observer. As a result, we will be changing the default data entry forms to the new data entry forms for desktop users. Learn more.  >>

Dr. Yoseline Angel is leading NASA research on wildflower and tree flower blooms and is hoping that GLOBE land cover observations will help her identify blooms in satellite data.  >>

The NISAR mission will measure Earth’s changing ecosystems, dynamic surfaces, and ice masses, providing information about biomass, natural hazards, sea level rise, and groundwater.  >>
